Good News Fridays: Ryan Kitchens and Bionic Dog

Geek Alabama Good News Fridays

ryan_kitchensTime for another edition of Good News Fridays.  First, here is a good story about a celebration of life.  Ryan Kitchens, a local boy battling medulloblastoma, died last Tuesday.  But before he passed away; he brought together a lot of people around the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Thanks to WHNT 19; Ryan Kitchens and his family got to enjoy a lot of great gifts from the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Ryan was a huge Alabama fan, and he became known as “Lil Bama.”

Alabama fans and players from the football team sent him autographed footballs, t-shirts, hats, and even tickets to the Iron Bowl and the SEC Championship Game.  Ryan and his family also collected lots of Christmas gifts to donate to Kids To Love.  Ryan will be missed; but be happy that he got to enjoy his favorite things before he passed away!

I also wanted to talk about this as well!  I consider dogs as a part of a family; and I love seeing the hearts of people who rescues homeless animals!  Naki’o was just a puppy when he was found in the icy cellar of an abandoned home.  This dog was homeless, injured, and struggling to walk.  Thanks to Christie Pace; she raised the money to pay for prosthetics for Naki’o’s two rear legs.  Then the maker of the artificial legs offered to make two more for free – for Naki’o’s front legs.  Today; Naki’o is just like any other dog who likes to play!  I love these stories!
