Oh my goodness, the floofs are floofing right out of these dogs! We are preparing to finally go RV camping again, and one of the biggest things I need to tackle before we hit the road is blowing out the dogs’ coats. They are shedding like crazy, and it is just coming out in giant white clouds. I thought it would be so much fun to show you guys a bit of our process, watch the fur fly, and share some of the tools we use to keep everyone looking beautiful and feeling good.
If you have been around for a while, you have probably seen my professional grade high velocity blower. It is an absolute lifesaver, and Jamie even put it on a cool little cart with wheels so I can move it around easily. We have got our Happy Hoodies out to help with the noise, ear protection for me, and a super safe body-blocking setup on the grooming table. Safety is always number one, so remember, never walk away from your dogs when they are on a table. Ever!
After the fur blizzard settles, we always make sure to let the girls decompress. But there is one crucial step we never skip before brushing them out, and that is washing their eyes! All that loose dander, dust, and fur gets everywhere, so using a pet-friendly eye wash is a total game changer to get that loose gunk out. Life is short, make memories with your dogs, even if it means drowning in a density of husky fur to get them ready for an epic camping adventure!
