Welcome to the Trainscapes segment! Each week here on Geek Alabama, Trainscapes will feature train content including videos of trains and behind the scenes action of trains and locomotives. Some people have an interest in seeing trains, and we here at Geek Alabama aim to please the train lovers!
What happens when a locomotive is no longer needed, and worn out? They go to a place, a placed called….The Deadline! The deadline at the Minnesota Commercial locomotives has grown, made up of RARE ALCo and GEs, sitting silent. Get up close to these survivors before the scrap torch arrives, and learn the history of each locomotive. We’ll even see most of these engines in service, before they were put to rest.
Lets take an aerial view of the well known Minnesota Commercial Railway, and their deadline! Lots of rare power is seen; the LAST ALCo RS27s, RS18, RS23, GEs, and so much more. We’ll even see video of these locomotives when they were active, before being put to rest in the deadline. Tons of ALCo smoke, a near miss with a truck, and so much more is to be seen!
