Looking back a year and a few days, It is Monday, April 8, 2024, and we’re about five hours from home for the special chance to railfan under a total solar eclipse. The last eclipse with a path through the contiguous US was annular rather than total, and swept from Oregon to the Gulf near Corpus Christi, TX in 2023.
