Welcome to the Trainscapes segment! Each week here on Geek Alabama, Trainscapes will feature train content including videos of trains and behind the scenes action of trains and locomotives. Some people have an interest in seeing trains, and we here at Geek Alabama aim to please the train lovers!

Train Derailment On Norfolk Southern Peavine Line. Includes Clean Up & Update. The Train That Derailed Was A Grain And Rock Train Loaded With Corn And Rock. Video Also Includes A Heavy Rock Train Going Up Williamsburg Hill. Classic Locomotives Used On This Heavy Train Include EMD MP15DC Switcher & GP15-1 Road Unit. 2 Railroad Crossings & Both Sides Of Train Are Included.

The train derailed at the abandoned railroad crossing location of Lindsey Road near Mount Orab, Ohio. The crossing was abandoned about 20 years ago after a car was struck by a Norfolk Southern train. It was a dangerous crossing with a very steep approach and visibility was limited. I did a video explaining the accident about a month or so ago.

This is the Norfolk Southern Peavine Line that is leased to Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. The train derailed on the first week of new ownership. CCET was recently sold to Regional Rail out of Pennsylvania. It was just a small accident and nobody was injured. The tracks have been restored and the line is back in service. The affected rail cars are still at the scene as you can see in the video.
