If Alabama Wants To Ban And Discriminate Against Drag / LGBTQ, These Must Be Banned As Well

So I knew it would come to Alabama, and I am not surprised.  In the Alabama Legislature, HB 401 has been introduced to ban “lewd or lascivious dancing, presentations or activities including but not limited to… male or female impersonators, commonly known as drag queens or drag kings” in K-12 public schools, libraries or other public places where children are present.

This bill is among other bills in the legislature now that would harm the LGBTQ community.  This is what the Republicans and religious extremists want.  They want anyone who is LGBTQ to go back into closet, and be hidden from society.  If anyone LGBTQ decides to harm themselves, many on the right would celebrate that.

Anyone in the LGBTQ community is going through a lot right now, and these bills just make things worse for them.  So, if the Alabama Legislature wants to ban anyone in drag, they are going to have to ban these things as well.  I guess soon kids won’t get to do anything and will have to be put into a bubble and watched over by helicopter parents.

Child Beauty Pageants

Have you seen a child beauty pageant?  Those kids in them are wearing clothing that can be considered sexualized.  So if drag has to be banned, child beauty pageants have to be banned as well.

Cheerleaders

Yep, kids and teens in cheerleader outfits are wearing clothing that makes them sexualized.  No more cheerleaders at football games and no more pep rallies.

Gymnastics

Women in gymnastic meets are wearing outfits that reveal a lot of their bodies, which would be sexualized, so gymnastics would have to be banned.

Swimming Suits (Go Back To Old-Fashioned Suits)

Yep, women wearing a 2-piece swimming suit reveals too much of their bodies, which would be sexualized.  And for the guys, those Speedos are too much as well.  We have to go way back in time and wear those full-body swimming suits.  Swimming is going to suck.

Hooters / Twin Peaks

Those servers at Hooters and Twin Peaks are wearing little clothing and that makes them sexualized.  Men are going to freak out when its banned!

Broadway Plays

Many plays on Broadway and even Shakespeare plays feature cross-dressing and drag.  I guess the Alabama Shakespeare Festival will have to close down.

Cosplay

Many people who go to conventions love to costume play.  Since that will be against the law now, conventions will have to cease to exist in Alabama.

Halloween

Since many kids and adult wear costumes during Halloween, that would also be against the law.  All the kids will be sad when they can’t get any candy.

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras features many who cross-dress, so that will have to go as well.  The birthplace of Mardi Gras, Mobile, Alabama, will become a quiet city every February.

Dancers

Yep, some dancers wear outfits that can make them sexualized, so the art of dancing will be banned in Alabama.

Prom

Women who attend prom usually wear dresses that can make them sexualized, so prom will have to be banned.  The high school ritual will be a thing of the past.

Powderpuff Football

Yep, powderpuff football often features cross-dressing, so that will have to be banned as well.

Tight Jeans

Many women wear jeans that can make them sexualized, so women would have to be banned from wearing pants.

Movies & TV

Several TV shows and movies feature characters who wear drag or cross-dress.  So Alabama will have the green light to ban TV shows and movies.

Church Groups

There have been a rash of people who work in churches who have been charged or convicted of sexual abuse or pornography.  If Alabama wants to ban drag, church groups have to be banned as well.
