This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:
Each book has readers discovering the careers, stories and superpowers of 26 diverse women currently working in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) fields. The award winning format of the book uses an A to Z format to share the range of careers. Each of the 26 STEM Superheroes featured have a full page color illustration with their story. This format allows the book to create “AHA” moments for the readers.
The series began with the creative collaboration of co-authors, educators, parents and friends, Erin Twamley and Joshua Sneideman. The first book, Everyday Superheroes: Women in STEM Careers has been recognized with awards, a successful crowdfunding campaign and over 5,000 copies sold.
Erin and Joshua have teamed up with Katie Mehnert, CEO of ALLY Energy, author, speaker and energy evangelist to write, consult and source the 26 diverse women powering our planet. ALLY Energy is the leading resource in diverse talent, careers, and culture, creating an inclusive workforce for the energy transition.
This author collective, a collective of illustrators, designers and a superb publishing team at Wise Ink are all committed to carefully crafting the details of the second book in the series.
Additional insights and writers will include:
- Energy Justice Advocate (Do you know someone who should collaborate with us?)
- An emerging young Energy Superhero
- The National Energy Education Development Project (NEED)
As of April 29th, this project has raised $18,000 of their $10,000 goal. This project has 7 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $25, you will get one book. For a pledge of $50, you will get two books. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/energysuperheroes/everyday-superheroes-women-in-energy-a-childrens-book?
