Crowdsourcing Mornings: Adopt-a-Maple 2021: The Secret Island

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:

Hi there! Thanks for checking out our project and for your interest in our family-run maple farm.

We are so humbled by the tremendous support from the Kickstarter community over the past three years, with many of you having adopted a Kettle Ridge Farm maple tree in each of those years. This has enabled us to fulfill our mission of providing local, natural products as part of a sustainable small-farm enterprise. Your support has also allowed us to welcome thousands of families to our unique property and instill an appreciation for maple sugaring and the many other gifts of nature.

SO WE ARE AT IT AGAIN: the fourth year of our Kickstarter campaign for Adopt-a-Maple. By adopting one of our maple trees for the 2021 year, you become part of the tradition at Kettle Ridge Farm. You will receive a custom certificate with a photo of your tree along with its GPS coordinates. You will also enjoy an assortment of our maple syrups, mailed to you at the end of the maple season (April-May).

Many thousands of years ago the last glacier retreated from upstate New York to leave what we now call Kettle Ridge Farm — 70 beautiful, rugged acres located outside Rochester in the Town of Victor. With its steep wooded slopes, high ridges, and impressive kettle-hole ponds, Kettle Ridge Farm offers refuge from surrounding development in one of the fastest-growing communities in New York State.

We produce maple syrup from approximately 2,000 trees, all within a one-mile radius of the farm. We also maintain a small apiary and sell the wildflower honey made by our honey bees.

As of February 10th, this project has raised $15,000 of their $7,500 goal. This project has 23 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $5, you will get one sticker.  For a pledge of $15, you will get one 375ml glass of maple syrup.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
