The Saluda Grade along the Norfolk Southern Railroad is one of the steepest railroad grades in North America.  Sadly, this line is no longer in use.  But, when it was used, the line had to have experts to make sure the downhill trip was safe.  And in the early 1980’s, Southern Railroad made a safety video about how to operate on this line.  Enjoy it below!
