Andrew Ripp

Andrew_Ripp

Andrew Ripp is a singer-songwriter from Palatine, Illinois.  Before releasing his debut album, Fifty Miles to Chicago, in 2008, Andrew first broke into the national music scene as a songwriter.  Andrew contributed to albums like Ryan Cabrera’s album You Stand Watching, which was on charts like the Billboard Hot 100, Top 40 Mainstream, Pop 100 Airplay, Pop 100, and Hot Digital Songs charts.

Andrew Ripp released his second album, She Remains the Same, on September 21, 2010, breaking the top 100 on the Billboard new artists chart.  His third album called, Won’t Let Go, was produced by Grammy Award winner Charlie Peacock and was released on April 16, 2013 via Be Music & Entertainment.  Here is one of Andrew Ripp’s songs called “Falling For The Beat.”  There are some good beats in this song!

From his bio, Andrew Ripp creates music that pushes the boundaries of genre stereotypes, blending the energetic beats of pop music into a soul culture and adding the depth and groove of soul music into a pop culture. Since beginning his career in 2005, Ripp’s songs and records have successfully impacted a diverse and growing audience including true music lovers: fans that appreciate the nuances of a well crafted album, and easy listeners: fans who simply want to hear a catchy tune.  Most of the songs from Andrew Ripp comes with emotion and instrumentation.

After listening to a few of the songs from Andrew Ripp, I feel like he is a great artist that knows how to connect emotional songs to a widespread audience.  His songs come  with plenty of upbeat moments, and slow jam moments as well.  Here is another song from Andrew Ripp called “Forever After Love.”  The music video below is Andrew Ripp performing his song while you watch a time lapse painting being created, it was a great painting!

The Dollyrots

DOLLYROTS-PR2web-300x300

The Dollyrots are an American pop punk band composed of Kelly Ogden (bass, vocals) and Luis Cabezas (guitar). They have released four studio albums and are currently under their own label Arrested Youth.  From their bio, When The Dollyrots entered the studio in late 2013, the punk pair of Kelly Ogden [vocals, bass] and Luis Cabezas [guitar, vocals] brought someone else along for the ride.  Ogden was actually pregnant with the couple’s first child River throughout the entire process, making it unlike any recording experience they enjoyed this past decade. As a result, they tapped into something very special for their fifth full-length album, the aptly titled Barefoot And Pregnant.  Here is one of their popular songs called “Rollercoaster.”

Singer/bassist Kelly Ogden and guitarist Luis Cabezas have known each other since meeting in the 8th grade.  Both of them attended New College of Florida where they formed a band called No Chef with friends Josh Harrold and Mike Benbow. Ogden and Cabezas played the guitar while Harrold was the singer/bassist and Benbow was on drums.  Soon Josh Harrold left, and the band moved from Florida to California.  In 2003 the band self recorded and released an EP Feed Me, Pet Me.  In 2004 they signed a deal with Panic Button Records/Lookout! Records and released their first studio album Eat My Heart Out.

Their second album, Because I’m Awesome, was released in 2007.  Their third album, A Little Messed Up, was released in 2010.  Their fourth album, The Dollyrots, was released in 2012.  And their two newest albums called Love Songs, Werewolves, & Zombies: A Dollyrots Acoustic Album and Barefoot And Pregnant, have come out this year!  Their music is mostly hyper and rock!  If you like a lot of hyped up music, then The Dollyrots are for you!  Here is another music video from them called “Brand New Key.”

If you want to explore their music, I suggest you head to their website!  One more music video with lyrics called “Come And Get It.”  Lots of action music in this song!
