These Soldiers Won A Wedding!

Bobby Hill and Katie Durham both from Sardis City, AL and their families just found out they won the $50,000 wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, S.C. The wedding will be held on February 9th, 2013. As you remember both of these people are serving tours in Afghanistan that will be wrapped up soon. Here is their entry video for the contest.

Here is a statement from Bobby Hill that was put on the Magnolia Plantation Facebook page. You can tell he was happy that they won!

“I’m not able to put into words what this means to the two of us. The thought of being married there in Charleston has been one of the positive thoughts we’ve dwelled on to get us through our time here in Afghanistan. On behalf of my bride to be and me, thank you so much for this opportunity.”

And here is a message from Katie Durham that was posted on the Magnolia Plantation Facebook page.

“Bobby and I are overwhelmed with excitement. We never could have imagined something like this happening in our lives. We knew that we wouldn’t be able to afford the wedding we always dreamed of and that we would have to save our money earned in Afghanistan to be able to pay for one that all our friends and family could enjoy. And having just started off our careers out of college, it was going to be difficult. Feb 09 2013 will no doubt be one of the best days of our lives, and we can’t wait to share it with all those we love at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in true Southern style!”
