Help These Soldiers Win A Wedding!

There is a contest going on where a couple from NE Alabama has a chance to win a dream $50,000 wedding at the historic Magnolia Plantation and Gardens in Charleston, S.C.  The couple Bobby Hill and Katie Durham is trying to encourage people to go online and vote for them to win a wedding!  Bobby Hill is a graduate of Sardis High School and Jacksonville State University.  Katie Durham is a graduate of Florida State University.  The couple met in 2009 when they were both attending the Army Airborne School in Fort Benning, Georgia or commonly called Army Jump School.  There promotional picture is great!

That’s right; the couple are both currently serving in Afghanistan.  But they get to rarely see each other as they are stationed at separate posts.  The couple proposed in Key West, FL in December 2011 and were planning for their wedding when they were called up to be deployed earlier this year.  Then they found this contest to win a $50,000 wedding and entered.  They were later notified they were the final four finalists.  And there were around 300 videos submitted to this contest.  Videos of each of the four finalist couples are posted on the plantation’s website, and the couple that receives the most votes by August 31st will win the wedding package, which includes wedding location in the Gardens, a limo and tuxedo for the groom, tent rental, two night’s stay at the Charleston Place Hotel, wedding planner services, DJ and videography services, a cake, the bride’s dress, catering, photography, invitations, floral arrangements and more prizes.  Watch the video of the couple below!

So let’s make this our mission on Geek Alabama to vote for this couple!  You have until August 31st to vote and you can vote once a week!  Go to http://www.magnoliaplantation.com/events/wedding_giveaway.html and vote for Bobby Hill and Katie Durham.  And click on the link below from the Sand Mountain Reporter to learn more about this couple!  http://www.sandmountainreporter.com/news/local/article_fb8800d4-d6a1-11e1-9f07-001a4bcf887a.html
