On a busy severe weather day in the Midwest that included a derecho in the Chicago area, a late-afternoon supercell rode the outflow boundary deposited by morning storms and produced a tornado near Champaign-Urbana, IL, more specifically developing near White Heath and Seymour and tracking toward Tolono and Sadorus. The storm also produced widepread downburst winds over 70 mph that flattened crops across Champaign County.
