HELLO! WE ARE FUTURITY SYSTEMS!
We are Cecilia Tham and Mark Bünger, and we call ourselves Future Synthesists. We have been working in the futures field for quite sometime now. What do we do you ask… Well we we offer Futures-as-a-Service to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to help them build better future, together.
How the book got started …
Our friend Dot Lung (who is a pretty badass btw) suggested that we teach an online class about futures methodology. We asked ourselves, how do you teach something we have been doing intuitively for years? In preparation for the class, it forced us to structure what had been intuitive into something teachable, repeatable, and scalable.
But we said yes. And that decision changed everything.
To our surprise, the course became wildly successful, reaching almost 10,000+ students worldwide. Suddenly we had thousands of people asking questions, pushing back, testing the ideas.
Together with Mark, that’s when the 4-step framework crystallized: Map, Story, Artifact, Plan.
What started as an online class became workshops, consultations with organizations worldwide, and eventually… this book.
