OGREST is an emotional and cinematic prequel graphic novel series chronicling the creation of Ogrest, a being born of alchemical wizardry by the scientist Otomaï, and the powerful bond he forms with the divine doll, Dathura. What begins as innocence soon spirals into heartache, setting the stage for a cataclysm that will reshape the World of Twelve.

This original 1000+ page series is told in five volumes that explore the untold origin of one of the most powerful—and tragic—figures in the WAKFU universe.

Crafted by the immensely talented writer/illustrator Mig, a longtime WAKFU collaborator, this story dives into the complex machinations that led to the cataclysm known as “Ogrest’s Chaos” that devastated the world.

If you’ve ever pondered how a gentle-hearted being could flood the world in sorrow, this is your story. OGREST: The Storm Before the Tears isn’t just lore—it’s the heart of what makes WAKFU special: love, loss, consequence, and hope.

Written and illustrated by David “Mig” Laurent, the Ogrest prequel series tells the deeply emotional and mythic origin story of Ogrest, whose heartbreak reshaped the world.

As of July 16th, this project has raised $11,300 of their $7,500 goal. This project has 16 days left to raise as much as it can.
