Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Welcome to the Vampire Dice Collection, inspired by every dice goblin’s favorite D&D vampire!
My name is Ming, aka Brother Ming Games, and together with my good friend Tonestar, we are SUPER excited to bring to you this gorgeous unofficial Pale Elf inspired collection of dice and boxes!
We have been working on this collection for over a year now. We went through so many iterations of the dice design and ordered several rounds of samples, modifying and experimenting until we were finally satisfied with the final product.
Now, 14 months later, we are finally here to offer you this gorgeous set of custom engraved gemstone dice with custom coffin shaped dice boxes! We hope you love them as much as we do~
The dice come in 3 different materials. Each material also comes in both a Simple and Ornate version. These 6 color ways were inspired by our Vampire’s various costumes and motifs, with each set reflecting a different facet of his character.
I love gemstone and glass dice because not only are they much heavier feeling than resin or plastic, they also make a much nicer “clickity-clackity” sound when shaken in your hand.
I find stone to be a much nicer weight than metal for dice as well, which tend to “thud” onto the dice tray with no bounce. Gemstone dice are also naturally cool to the touch, making them very satisfying to play with while awaiting your turn in combat.

As of February 26th, this project has raised $50,000 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 6 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $42, you will get one dice box. For a pledge of $74, you will get one dice set. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brotherminggames/bg3-astarion-dice?r
