Welcome to the Music Thursdays segment! Each week here on Geek Alabama, Music Thursdays will feature music related content. Music Thursdays will feature an artist or band and their latest song and / or music video. People love music, and we here at Geek Alabama love featuring artists and bands!

This song was created to mark the birthday on 17 October of Alyssa Sangeeta Jacobson, an incredibly special person lost to the world too young, but whose legacy of love, light, laughter and kindness lives on in many forms. We never had the chance to meet her, but celebrating her memory makes us think of so many other beautiful people who shared their life journeys with us and whose presence we still feel in our hearts, lifting us up. Sending love to her family and those supported by the amazing foundation in her name.

We tried to plough all that energy into this adaptation of Ray Charles’s classic rhythm and blues track, “Hallelujah I Love Her So” released in 1956 which has long been a family favorite because of its joyful spirit. We had to switch in clarinet and violin for the original sax solo, and included a few more voices – including a first outing for Tess’s legendary high harmonic at the end! We changed one word to help open the lyrics up for all.
