A couple of days ago I asked my mom if she knew about Project 2025? She said no. And I told her to look it up. Project 2025 along with Agenda 47 would pretty much end the United States of America as we know it.
These fascist, authoritarianism plans would dramatically reshape the United States where the president is a king and Republicans can do whatever they want with no restrictions.
And after today’s Supreme Court ruling giving the president immunity under official acts, this should serve as a dramatic wake up call for Democrats.
So I have to ask, why do Democrats suck at messaging? The truth is, Republicans have been spending the past few decades building up their massive right-wing media messaging platforms that we have today.
Everything from news websites, talk radio, podcasts, social media, newspapers, cable news, local TV news, YouTube, and any other media platform.
Republicans now dominate the media landscape in this country. Meanwhile, Democrats are just sitting on their rear ends wishing something would change.
The truth is, the old ways of campaigning are a thing of the past. Democrats cannot postcard their way out of this messaging problem. Democrats cannot knock on everyone’s door their way out of this messaging problem. Democrats cannot call or text everyone out of this messaging problem.
Why are Democrats not building new media infrastructure in this country? Sorry I have to ask this question, but this is the truth.
While Republicans have been building up their massive media infrastructure, more liberal media platforms have seen layoffs and shutdowns. The massive number of people laid off from media jobs in the past few years is staggering.
But do you hear of any layoffs in right-wing media? Nope! Democrats must build new media infrastructure in this country.
We need new news websites. We need new podcasts. We need new talk radio shows. We need new cable news channels. We need new local TV news content. We need new social media creators. We need new YouTube channels. Basically, Democrats have hit rock bottom and they need to start building back up fast.
Because if they don’t rebuild media infrastructure, Donald Trump is going to be re-elected in November, and he’s going to be elected to be king. And the United States will become a fascist dictatorship.
If this happens, you know blue states like California, or New York, etc. will not put up with this. And they will simply announce that they will secede from the United States. Basically, the United States will no longer be a 50-state United States. And we will plunge into a second civil war where millions will die.
And for someone like me who is a liberal and has a disability, I would be extremely vulnerable under a fascist dictatorship, I would have to consider my options before I am arrested or executed.
It would either be moving to a blue state for refuge, or going to another country and claiming refugee status. And that would be extremely hard, because many countries around the world discriminate against people with disabilities and autism.
So on this 4th of July while I’m watching the fireworks, I’ll be thinking about living in a country that does not care or value people like myself. And the election in November and the results will determine if I live or die, isn’t that wonderful!
