Crowdsourcing Mornings: How To Be A Quitter

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

This book is for adults who are looking for advice, motivation and guidance without having to read a boring leadership book.

In our silent quitting culture, there are so many people that don’t know how to identify when they are unhappy and can’t seem to muster up the courage and confidence in themselves to quit when there is no longer opportunity for growth, recognition or simply know it’s okay to quit if they just don’t find joy in their work anymore.

How to be a Quitter is a creative take on giving advice and is a quick how-to for adults who are stuck. This is a new and refreshing take on those leadership books that could’ve been summed up in a few paragraphs.

Why should you invest my book? For the past 10 years, I’ve been coaching, mentoring and guiding people in their careers and most of the time, I find myself giving them permission to look within themselves to identify if their company is still right for them. I’ve spent most of my career motivating people to find a job or role that brings them some amount of joy and purpose, encouraging them to keep searching until they find a team that appreciates what they have to offer and will recognize them both in title and compensation. There are so many unhappy people out there, going through the motions, that need a little push of motivation and confidence to fight for what they want or move on if it’s not working anymore.

Too many companies are selling this idea that when you join, you are a “family” when in actuality, we should normalize the concept that each job is a tour of duty. Hopefully you can gain a ton of experience and knowledge during your tour of duty and the company can gain a lot of impact from what you bring to the table. When the tour of duty is done, it should be okay for you to move on to what the next best step is for you and your career.

Being someone who has read a ton of leadership books that could have been a chapter, this is a book I wish existed for myself and I know others will appreciate the break from the run-of-the-mill leadership books, too.

As of December 20th, this project has raised $1,100 of their $11,000 goal. This project has 52 days left to raise the $11,000 or it will not be funded.
