Welcome to the Trainscapes segment!  Each week here on Geek Alabama, Trainscapes will feature train content including videos of trains and behind the scenes action of trains and locomotives.  Some people have an interest in seeing trains, and we here at Geek Alabama aim to please the train lovers!

Join us as we hop the Amtrak Sunset Limited (LA to New Orleans). This 3 day journey takes us across the Southernmost route with Amtrak. We will follow along the US/Mexico border wall, the Rio Grande and the Mississippi River to name a few. There is much to see on this route as you make your way across the country. We enjoyed our accommodations in a roomette which included our meals in the Amtrak dining car. Our train also had a Sightseer Lounge (Observation Car) where we spent a little time enjoying the views. We slept in an Amtrak Superliner Roomette.
