This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

The first car combat game, and still the best . . . Car Wars returns in a bigger, faster edition. The detailed 1/64 scale cars move, shoot, and catch fire the way you remember, with faster car creation and play. Once again you can rule the roads! North America, A.D. 2069. It’s a new American frontier. The collapse of the U.S. government plunged the country back into the good old days — days of wilderness lawlessness, banditry, regional dictators, and of the men and women who combat them. Modern-day knights and gunslingers are in demand; but the automobile has replaced the horse, and the machine-gun and recoilless rifle have made the sword and Winchester obsolete.
Car Wars is the game of autoduelling; futuristic vehicular combat where the right of way goes to the biggest guns. Players design their cars — complete with weapons, accessories, and crew — and then take them into the arena where one emerges victorious . . . and the others are annihilated. First published in 1981, the earlier editions of Car Wars have sold over one million games and accessories during the game’s near-four decades of life. Over the years, the Car Wars game — as well as the world of Autoduel America — has grown, adding more rules, expansions, and setting information. Car Wars has been featured in comic books, novels, solo adventure gamebooks, and even the fan-favorite classic Autoduel video game.
Now, with your support, we’re bringing Car Wars back as a faster, streamlined edition with detailed plastic models. The new Car Wars game was designed to put you in the driver’s seat and into the action within moments of opening the game box. After six years of design, development, playtesting, and constant refinement and improvement, we’ve completed the core of the new Car Wars Sixth Edition game and we’re now ready for your support.
As of December 2nd, this project has raised $360,000 of their $80,000 goal. This project has 35 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $51, you will get a Car Wars Sixth Edition two-player pack. For a pledge of $75, you will get a Car Wars Sixth Edition four-player game.
