Vote For Alabama’s Best BBQ Restaurant

What is one of the things you think about in Alabama? How about Barbecue! Alabama is home to many BBQ restaurants and several of these restaurants have won national awards! Now the Alabama Tourism Department is holding a competition to decide Alabama’s best BBQ. 32 restaurants are listed in the first-ever Alabama Barbecue Bracket. This bracket is based on the NCAA March Madness brackets many of us fill out every year! The match-ups are based on a social media poll that Alabama Tourism conducted last year that garnered more than 180 responses. The top eight submissions for each region, North, South, Central and Gulf Coast, ended up in the Alabama BBQ Bracket.

As part of the Year of Alabama Food, you are encouraged to vote online every three days to advance your favorite BBQ joint. Starting on Monday March 11th, each head-to-head match-up gets three days of voting to determine a winner. The restaurants with the most votes move on to the Sweet 16 bracket, an Elite Eight and then a Final Four. The Final Four voting takes place from April 1 through April 5. The winning restaurant will be announced April 8, which is the same day as the NCAA’s men’s basketball championship. Here is the bracket to start you off!
