Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hello, dear friends!
In case you don’t know me, my name is Emily J Stegamos and I am the creator and owner of EJS Creations, a home for all manner of cute, cuddly, and curious creatures. You may know me from past successful Kickstarter campaigns such as Flint & Feather’s Pride Alignment Pins, the Cuddly Cryptids Pin Set, and most recently the Sticker Obsessed: An EJS Creations Sticker Book Collection. If you are a returning backer, I want to express my appreciation first and foremost for your continued support of my business and artistic endeavors!
What is The Mien Bestiary?
The Mien Bestiary is a project that I’ve always wanted to produce. It is a compilation of some of the most interesting creature designs EJS Creations has to offer, presented from the perspective of Amalia Diskiveras, Chief Field Biologist for the Queen of Randomia in the world of Mien. This world exists in a far distant future and is very different from what you or I may be used to. A series of events (The Great Calamity) has changed the landscape and populace of the planet and forced evolution’s hand to create flora and fauna that is better suited for survival in this incredible new world.
Simply put, The Mien Bestiary is an 80+ page art book sized at 5.5″x8.5″ with a soft touch satin cover and 80lb satin inner pages, featuring a mixture of over 40 full color and sepia toned illustrations and sketches that depict many unusual creature found in the world of Mien, including their lore, fun facts, and taxonomical information.
Some of these creatures may be known to you if you have been following EJS Creations for a while. Old fan favorites get a closer look, including BumbleBear, DerpShark, Pooter, Lepuline, and Lepogrives. The rest of the book is filled with creature designs created during my annual October daily drawing challenge (Pinktober). This year I strove to create unique creatures based on a taxonomy and randomly selected biome. The results proved rather interesting to say the least!
The goal of this Kickstarter is to fund the initial run of my (first ever) art book and hopefully fund some fun extras, as I do not have the budget to do so by myself. Below you will find more information about my plans for this project and how you can help bring it to life!
As of December 20th, this project has raised $1,400 of their $1,100 goal. This project has 7 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get one digital edition. For a pledge of $20, you will get one physical copy. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ejscreations/the-mien-bestiary-an-ejs-creations-creature-art-book?
