A major winter storm heavily impacted the North Platte area this evening with snowfall rates of 2+”/hr at times. So far, 14+ inches has fallen since around 6pm. Crews can be seen trying to clear the Walmart parking lot. City crews were hard at work trying to clear the main roads. On Interstate 80, semis were pulled off on the side with exit ramps blocked by stuck semis and traffic backed up. This storm over performed.
