Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

A children’s picture book that captures the excitement of construction vehicles, the importance of imagination and the joy of friendship. Transporting young readers to an exciting day of construction fun.

I am Ashley Wall, author of The Day I Had a Bulldozer and co-founder of MamaBear Books. MamaBear Books is a publishing company specializing in colorful and fun children’s picture books. My husband, Jeff Wall and I started MamaBear Books in 2022 and The Day I Had a Bulldozer is our debut title. We are dedicated to bringing fun and playful stories to market. Our goal is to help children build a love for reading. Which we believe is best accomplished by making them laugh and smile while reading and listening to entertaining stories. Books help children explore their imaginations, build their creativity, come up with their own ideas and practice decision making. We want children and the readers of our books to have fun, laugh and learn.

Inspired by my son’s love for construction vehicles I thought, how cool would it be for a kid to get a construction vehicle of their very own for a day. When reading books my three year old son will point to different characters and say, “That’s me. I’m doing xyz.” By creating The Day I Had a Bulldozer kids can explore their imaginations by pretending to be in the construction action and relating to the different characters throughout the story. Kids will learn how to use their imagination, build friendship skills and have fun reading a book.

As of August 2nd, this project has raised $9,100 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 8 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $25, you will get one signed book.  For a pledge of $50, you will get one signed book plus extras.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thedayihadabulldozer/the-day-i-had-a-bulldozer?
