Welcome to “NOVI, Space Princess” Kickstarter campaign. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
I’m Kayden Phoenix the Writer/Creator of NOVI, Space Princess graphic novel. I’m a third generation Chicana from East Los Angeles. I come from an entertainment industry background and when I was thinking about what I wanted to see on the big screen, I noticed the industry dominated standard- complete with character generalizations. I believe in equality in front and behind the camera, so I created The Majestics, Native and Latina Princesses. This is a series of Princess graphic novels. This is the origin story of NOVI, Space Princess.
Novi is given a tachyon by her future mother, allowing her to travel anywhere within Thence galaxy. Instantly! Novi’s other two mothers, past and present, are perplexed as to why she was given this and tell her not to use it under any circumstances.
Novi decides to search for her future mother to get more answers about her new-found transportation abilities and sets out with the help of Huckleberry, a nebula horse. When three powerful corporations learn of Novi’s abilities, they pursue Novi throughout the galaxy to bottle her powers.
The objective of this book is to have a space princess origin story; one that implores adventurousness, shows bravery, supports science, and most importantly, a story that includes marginalized and unheard individuals.
