Crowdsourcing Mornings: Wanderling Tour: Me, My Piano & An International Roadtrip

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

This is my 10th year as a performing, solo musician. Wow! For someone who started with a career in arts- and early childhood education, it’s hard to believe I’ve been on this professional music path for almost a decade. In a few short years I went from having no idea how to perform, terrified of forgetting the words, to planning a 6-month international tour across Canada and the US (Goddess Revolution Tour 2017). Since 2015 I’ve written and released 10 albums including pop culture homages and magical workings, with an emphasis on storytelling.

Growing up and into adulthood, I was always told I talked too much: in conversation, in class, on stage. Until one day someone pointed out to me that the stories I tell on stage between songs are as important as the songs themselves. Suddenly I understood who I was going to become as a performer: part pianist, part vocalist, part teacher, part storyteller. I don’t just want to sing you a song.I want to share a glimpse inside a tiny universe with you. I want to show you who a character truly is.

I sing songs about stories and tell stories about life. Character studies are my happy place. I love to crawl inside a mind not my own and to write my way out as someone else. My favourite characters are those found in folklore and myth. People have been telling each other stories since there have been people to tell them, and I’m a proud part of this ancient lineage and oral bardic tradition.

This summer my Wanderling Tour will take us all back to once upon a time with a modern twist. I hope you’ll come hear me on the road, come to my online shows, and if you can, support this fundraising campaign to help me get there.

As of April 18th, this project has raised $3,000 of their $2,993 goal. This project has 3 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $12, you will get concert audio.  For a pledge of $23, you will get one photo album.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lesliehudson/wanderling-tour?
