Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Some evils never sleep for long…
A demonic shadow descends upon the elven Kingdom of Daeshal, exerting its influence over noble and commoner alike. With its hand outstretched, casting a web of lies, corruption, and murder, this ancient evil draws a young boy into its plans.
Redgar, whose powers stem from an ancient, forgotten bloodline, stands as the only human noble among elves. Fighting for a place in a culture that doesn’t accept him, Redgar must learn the depth of his power if he is to survive in their world and escape from the darkness enshrouding the kingdom – and the past often returns to haunt the present.

Shadowfall is the first book of my four-part series and takes place in the world of El’Anthar. A world with a rich history and dark past. The book itself is the story of a young teenage boy named Redgar, who must learn to survive in a culture that neither accepts nor wants him. His gifts and talents set him apart from the elves, but also creates challenges for him, both as a human and as a noble. Redgar must learn their ways and culture if he is to step into the role he’s been called to play.
Social challenges aren’t the only thing the boy must overcome, but emotional ones, too. Redgar’s bloodline costs him the people closest to him as the antagonist seeks to eliminate any threats to his grab for power.
Shadowfall follows some tropes found in Tolkien’s work as well as Joseph Cambell’s hero’s journey arc. It also uses ideas like, ‘not all orcs are evil, for example, even though some of the main antagonists are orcs. Still with El’Anthar I wanted to do something different, combining elements we know with new ones.
The reward tiers I offer not only include signed copies of the book, but also other swag too. Shaylin Gifting Stones, which I hand make, are runic stones that the Shaylin, or elves, give to those closest to them. At the higher tiers, you can have yourself fashioned into a character or villain and play a part in a future story. We can discuss what that looks like moving forward and see how it fits into El’Anthar.
I encourage to take a look and also thank you for taking the time to listen and read what I’m offering. You’ll find a link to bookfunnel below where you can get a free preview of Ancient Blood: Shadowfall. This preview includes the first five chapters in pdf form.
Once again, thank you for taking time to listen and I hope all of you have a blessed day.
