Crowdsourcing Mornings: Kitty’s Kits – We All Need Good Bread

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:

Making bread can feel intimidating but it doesn’t have to be, Kitty’s Kits are a just add water, no knead bread mix.  Kitty’s Kits are a super simple no kneed no mess bread mix, from ages 5-95 everyone can use a kit, all you have to do is add water, mix, wait then bake.

My name’s Kitty. I am the founder (and currently the only) employee of Kitty’s Kits.

I left school at 14 after really struggling with my mental health. Then I started making Real Bread. It brought me so much joy that I decided to share it.

I’m sooo excited to share this with you all. After a year of making just-add-water Real Bread mixes by hand to give to schools, food hubs and community groups with the help of my awesome millers, Wrights, I’m doing a production run of 10,000 kits!

These kits (which contain just flour, yeast and salt) will be available on the Kitty’s Kits web shop and from other independent retailers. For every one we sell, we give one away – see below.

BUT I need your help, the first run of the kits!!

Crowdfunder rewards include baking bundles, kits, totes, baguette earrings and much more!

Whatever you can give I so appreciate it. Let’s Breaducate!

As of January 24th, this project has raised $19,000 of their $9,318 goal.  This project has 15 days left to raise as much as it can.  For a pledge of $25, you will get 5 kits.  For a pledge of $63, you will get 5 kits, and much more.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
