Crowdsourcing Mornings: Organic Chili Pepper Subscription Boxes

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hello Kickstarter! Thanks to the support of our amazing backers, we are now Certified Organic! (And, as a special thank you we are offering a launch day repeat backer deal—get $50 off any CSA, or any pepper box for $50, through midnight tonight;)

At Homesweet Homegrown, we bring the heat and flavor of the world’s rarest peppers directly from our organic farm to your door with our exclusive pepper subscription boxes. Curated by us with completely new varieties for 2022, this year’s pepper crop includes some of the hottest in the world including Carolina Reaper and Dragon’s Breath, the newest superhot clocking in at 2.48 Million Scovilles!

It’s hard to believe, but 2022 marks a 10-year-journey for us (it’s crazy to think about that!) and, now we are officially Certified Organic—making us one of the only specialty organic chili pepper farms (and possibly the first woman-owned)  in the country.

It all began at the Union Square Greenmarket in NYC, where we sold our farm-to-bottle hot sauces and rare chili peppers to the best chefs (and customers!) in NYC. In 2018, I  launched the world’s first pepper subscription box here on Kickstarter to bring these super rare peppers to people all over the country.  Food and Wine and Forbes even gave us a shout out!

Kickstarter Add-ons and Exclusives

It’s been a crazy/ fun/wild 10-year-journey, and we want to celebrate with our biggest Kickstarter yet dedicated to all things spicy—featuring all new pepper varieties, and fun add-ons like:

  • Our farm-to-bottle hot sauces and DOSE pepper extracts
  • Live chili pepper seedlings from the greenhouse
  • The Homesweet Homegrown Garden planners and Kids Grow Journal
  • And the new Homesweet Homegrown Spice Lab, a 12-month Kickstarter-exclusive box of Homesweet Homegrown small batch hot sauces, innovations and products inspired and created from our pepper field).

As of February 8th, this project has raised $14,200 of their $5,000 goal. This project has 44 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get five chili peppers.  For a pledge of $17, you will get five smoke dried chilis.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
