This post is going to be about the apps and programs I use to make my time on social media easier. There is one app available that is super easy to use! Buffer App is an app that allows you to add status updates to be sent on a schedule on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. With a busy schedule; I don’t have time to check up on my Twitter and Facebook all the time. With the free Buffer App; you can schedule up to 10 status updates each day to go out to your social media accounts. Here is my Buffer App page.
Since I am unemployed; I can’t afford this. But if I had the money; I would pay the $10 monthly fee for the Awesome Plan. The Awesome Plan is $10 a month and it let’s you manage 12 social profiles, have unlimited posts in your Buffer, and even add two team members to help manage it all. This means that every time you add an update, you can choose to set it to send out on one account or multiple accounts across different networks simultaneously. Much easier than clicking on different pages to add updates.
In the account settings, you can create one or more buffering patterns for different days of the week. This way you can have lots of updates Monday through Friday, and have a few updates over the weekend when you might be getting less traction but you still want to keep things updated. No one wants to worry about updating social media while having fun on the weekends!
Updating you Buffer is very easy! Buffer offers lots of apps, extensions, and extras that will allow you to use Buffer in a variety of different places online. Some of my favorite extras are Pocket, Twylah, and Tweriod. Start by installing the Buffer extensions for Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari. I use Google Chrome and the Buffer App button is right up top!
Once the extension is installed, you will get a convenient button to use to add updates to your buffer at the top of your browser. But that’s not all; you can also Buffer Twitter updates and re-tweets You can also Buffer Facebook status updates as well!
Smartphone users can download the Buffer app for iPhone and Android. You can also bookmark to add updates to your Buffer from your mobile browser. Another benefit from Buffer is their blog which comes out with some useful information! You can read the blog at: http://blog.bufferapp.com/. One bad thing about Buffer App is you can’t post updates to Google Plus. But I have found a new app that is still in beta mode. Friends + Me is a program that allows users to share their Google + posts with their Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter followers. This program also let’s you share your Google + page updates to your Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook pages. I use this to share information within my personal social media accounts. I also use Friends + Me to share any stuff from the Geek Alabama Google + page to the Geek Alabama Twitter and Facebook pages.
Right now the program is in beta mode. And soon they will be launching several plans. Paying $19.99 a year to keep my Google +, Twitter, and Facebook followers updated is worth it. When Google + allows Buffer App to schedule updates, I will have some thinking to do! To learn more about Friends + Me; go to: http://www.friendsplus.me.
