Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

What happens when a curious Australian boy named Chris travels all the way to America and discovers one of Alabama’s sweetest treasures?

He finds pecans, pie, friendship, fun facts, a recipe, and an adventure worth sharing with children everywhere.

Hi, I’m Al Argo, author, speaker, encourager, and children’s book writer. I’m excited to invite you to be part of something very special: my fifth children’s book and my first-ever Kickstarter campaign!

This new book, Chris Discovers Priester’s Pecans!, is part of The Adventures of Chris series. It follows Chris as he comes from Australia to America and visits Priester’s Pecans in Fort Deposit, Alabama. Along the way, children will enjoy a fun, rhyming story filled with discovery, laughter, southern flavor, and amazing pecan facts.

But this project is more than a children’s book.

It is part of a much bigger global story.

“Al has captured the joy, flavor, and Southern charm of Priester’s Pecans in a beautifully illustrated story that children, parents, and educators can enjoy together.” – Grace Ellis, Special Projects Director for Priester’s Pecans.

As of June 18th, this project has raised $3,000 of their $2,500 goal. This project has 10 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $20, you will get one softcover book.  For a pledge of $49, you will get one book and t-shirt.
