I spent two days in June visiting some new and old railroad hotspots in central Alabama. We’ll visit Tuscaloosa before heading to Pelham, a hotspot for CSX traffic funneling into Birmingham, and Bessemer, a similar hotspot that funnels NS traffic headed towards Irondale. We’ll see how PSR has changed CSX operations and what happens on the railroad after a major storm.
