Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Our children can learn the beauty of being different, inclusive, and equally loving to those around them. Our children can understand the importance of empathy.
What better way to teach them than with this beautiful, heartwarming story which fosters a sense of belonging and connection in our diverse world.
Charlie Creates in His Own Way was a joint conception, bringing both Belinda Richardson’s and Hollis Callas’ backgrounds and passions together.
In 2021, with the concept of creating a children’s book highlighting diversity, equity, and disability, Belinda and Hollis were awarded the Bilsky Grant through the Shepherd Center. This grant supported full editing of the manuscript as well as consulting and project management with our publishing team at Wise Ink Media.
Belinda and Hollis have further self-funded this project to support book design, set up and optimization on Amazon, and set up for bookstore distribution.

As of May 10th, this project has raised $6,700 of their $13,500 goal. This project has 28 days left to raise the $13,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $25, you will get one book. For a pledge of $75, you will get one activity kit. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/holliscallas/charlie-creates-in-his-own-way?
