Crowdsourcing Mornings: Swatches Of Chakra Deck

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

If you’ve heard them referenced in songs or casually mentioned in articles and/or conversations, but don’t quite understand what they actually are…don’t worry, I got you.

Chakras are energy centers located throughout the body that play a key role in our overall health and wellness. There are seven main chakras, each associated with a different color, sound, and aspect of our being. For example, the root chakra, located at the base of the spine, is associated with the color red and represents our foundation, stability, and sense of security. By working to balance and align our chakras through practices like meditation or energy healing, we can promote greater physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Think of it like tuning up a musical instrument: when all of the chakras are in harmony, we experience a greater sense of balance, vitality, and joy in our lives.

The Swatches of Chakra deck started out as one of several products in a Kaleidadope quarterly “Dope Box”. As I started to dive deeper into my own wellness journey, I couldn’t help but become fascinated with the color representations of chakras and the fact that I was learning so much about energy and myself. As a painter and digital illustrator I’m constantly working with swatches, which lead to the birth of the original mini Swatches of Chakra deck.

Since the deck was only intended to be a limited release as part of the box, I took the most cost-effective route for that initial run. The deck is much smaller than an average deck (mini size), there’s no physical guidebook and the packaging is a simple tuckbox – basically a stripped down version of my usual design style.

After several requests to sell the deck by itself, it was made available and many sales later, here we are.

As of August 15th, this project has raised $13,600 of their $8,888 goal. This project has 8 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $28, you will get one deck.  For a pledge of $50, you will get two decks.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kaleidadope/swatches-of-chakra-deck?
