Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Pancakes with Nana is a heartfelt resource for families looking to bring clarity to death and dying in an approachable way. As young readers confront grandparent loss, this read aloud will bring a sense of togetherness for grieving families.
So… why do we need a children’s book about Medical Assistance in Dying?
Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is when a person asks a doctor to help them end their life legally and safely using lethal medication because they are suffering intolerably from an incurable disease.
And it presents a big challenge for parents and helping professionals:
Is it healthy to talk with kids about MAiD? How do I explain why our person would choose to MAiD? How much is too much to share?
We all want our children to feel loved and supported, and we know that offering honest information at a child-friendly level can help kids form a healthy relationship with death. Pancakes with Nana is the resource families need to guide them through this difficult time.

As of April 28th, this project has raised $6,800 of their $3,675 goal. This project has 6 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $23, you will get one signed book. For a pledge of $74, you will get one family support pack. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pancakeswithnana/pancakes-with-nana-by-chelsea-peddle?
