Crowdsourcing Mornings: Westbound Situation “Accord”

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

“Accord” is the next release from the New Acoustic string quartet Westbound Situation! Following up from their debut release “Pilot” in 2019, “Accord” is a reflection upon the people, places, and things which have conglomerated into Westbound’s own style of music.

Continuing to write with enthusiasm for exploration between the diverse interests of its members, Westbound Situation has compiled a new album or original material. As the group has done in the past, the music on “Accord” is arranged and solidified as a group without notation, including both improvised and composed passages.  Stylistically, this record is far ranging but has further focused the ensemble’s sound as one of its own. With changes in personnel and instrumentation since their debut, the band finds new colors and textures through the addition of mandolin and nyckelharpa. “Accord” is a celebration of Westbound’s journey in finding music for the present, the heightening in each member’s creative maturity, and a benchmark in which the band will continue to grow.

This Kickstarter will help to carry out the completion of “Accord” and make the new record available to all. The campaign will pay for studio time, mixing/mastering, album production, distribution, marketing, travel, and other miscellaneous costs associated with the record.

As of January 23rd, this project has raised $3,200 of their $9,500 goal. This project has 9 days left to raise the $9,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $20, you will get one digital album.  For a pledge of $30, you will get one signed CD.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
