Crowdsourcing Mornings: Three Little Ghouls And The First Day Of School

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Three Little Ghouls and the First Day of School is a children’s book authored by Sahara Powell, Ambika Rajyagor, and Taylor Days. The story centers around Luna, the high-spirited witch-in-training, Lycaon, the gentle were-yeti, and Eli, the kind-hearted vampire. Together, the three students venture into the first day of the new school year and learn the power of self-esteem, friendship, and magic!

Shelly Swann (aka Fairy Wulf) brings the whimsical world of Three Little Ghouls to life with richly colored illustrations, creative character design, and awe-inspiring landscapes that truly enhance the reading experience.

As a team consisting of a diverse group of women, we understand the significance of seeing yourself represented by the media you enjoy, especially when you’re an impressionable child. Oftentimes, stories featuring characters of color, characters with disabilities, or characters with body types that aren’t considered the standard, are rooted in tragedy and trauma. While those narratives are important to address, we also believe that every child deserves to see themselves in light-hearted, magical settings as well!

If you’d like to enchant the world for a young reader in your life, or if you simply have an appreciation for spooktacular art and design, consider contributing to this Kickstarter and entering the magical world of Three Little Ghouls.

As of June 9th, this project has raised $9,600 of their $5,000 goal. This project has 3 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get a digital thank you message.  For a pledge of $25, you will get a signed book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
