“The Little Book of Big Emotions” is a guide for children to connect with their emotions through The Big Emotions Crew an amazing bunch of characters who will take you on an emotional journey.
I wrote the “The Little Book of Big Emotions” after mentoring hundreds of teenagers in mindfulness and emotional intelligence, The common words they use when given the opportunity to speak about their Big Emotions are Anger, Depression and Anxiety.
This book will empower kids to connect with their emotions communicate them safely and learn tools to shift them from Fright, Flight and Freeze into moments of Clarity and Calmness.
This A5 flip book is geared towards ages 4-12 and is led by “The Big Emotions Crew” who will take the children on a journey helping them connect to their emotions, to understand when they started feeling the big emotions, why they are feeling them and how to shift the emotions.
Emotional development is a key part of growing up for all children. They need to learn to recognize and express their emotions in a healthy way.
Social-Emotional Learning is now being recognized as a key part of our children’s development, learning emotional regulation while understanding why the emotions occur and how to express them safely empowers them to build resilience, perspective and mindfulness, utilizing the tool in this book, can be LIFE CHANGING for a child, they will be less like to need to act it out in their behavior, especially if they have a parent there to help them.
Children with better emotional management skills have better relationships with their parents, closer friendships, higher self-esteem and perform better at school.
Being a father of 2 boys aged 10 and 13, I know first-hand the challenges our kids face in the world, being resilient and knowing how to communicate when they have had a great day or a terrible day is something we have practiced as a family.
Each Big Emotion Crew member will take your kids on a journey to learn critical emotional skills, they monsters are beautifully illustrated and create the sense of being in the emotion, they create an opportunity for parents and kids to sit together and have a common language around those big feeling that arises in our kids.
