Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Tales Of The Wind

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

The world has completely changed since we started working on this project a year ago. The COVID-19 restrictions followed by the terrible earthquake series hitting this region changed view on our lives, our perspective on culture and art as we knew it. We can see now more clearly how dreams can disappear overnight, but how ancient wisdom can endure these troubling times.

This breath-taking art book based on ancient folk tales is now evolving into a digital edition. Its first draft is now available on App Store and Google Play with amazing animations and never-before heard sounds of those woodland creatures.

So NOW, more than ever, this project needs your support for this final edition to be completed.

This book is a collection of stories that Zdenko’s grandmothers used to tell him about the hidden world, parallel to everything we know and see. It is a personal journal of his childhood dedicated to all those mesmerized by magical creatures–Fairies, Elves, Murks, Witches, and various other beings from ancient folklore that fill out one’s childhood with wonder and imagination.

These stories are Zdenko’s family heritage and part of the collective human legacy, which makes them universally appreciated.

Ten years after the first hard copy edition, this artbook has evolved into a digital book that adds a new dimension to old stories and art through sounds and animation. In development, the book grew far beyond the initial scope. We’d like to extend that scope even further, with new features such as digital maps showing the actual places where stories originated from. They will also indicate areas where those creatures are believed to have lived or where some of them still do. With additional illustrations and texts, this book now shines an entirely new light on these ancient folk tales.

As of February 16th, this project has raised $8,800 of their $8,500 goal. This project has 15 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $5, you will get a digital wallpaper and thank you note.  For a pledge of $20, you will get a digital book app.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1479330919/the-tales-of-the-wind-interactive-book-app-by-zdenko-basic?
