They are out there in space, asteroids.  And yes, asteroids have struck Earth many times, and will continue to do so.  Stephen Hawking thought an asteroid impact posed the greatest threat to life on Earth.  And the YouTube channel Veritasium talks about asteroids and their impact on Earth.  Enjoy below!
