Airlines run a very big business, and to stay profitable, they must decide where to fly or what routes to cut on a constant basis. If a route is not used by many flyers, it’s often cut out. But if enough people demand a new route, an airline might create it. Also, airlines must contend with other airlines who can offer the same route for less.
