Hello there! I’m Frank Abney, Writer/Director/Animator. I’ve spent nearly 20 years of my life animating on some of your favorite Oscar winning films, short films, and award winning games from big studios like Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, and Sony, Crystal Dynamics, etc. I made a conscious decision to break out of the film world and use that creative energy to create my own stuff, starting with my award winning short film CANVAS, which was funded right here on Kickstarter, then went on to land at Netflix. I wanted to return to take my next film, THE TURNERS, to the people, and see how we can make this happen, and continue to inspire other creators and put our stories into the world, because they matter!
Joe and Alberta Turner didn’t plan on returning to a life they left behind long ago, but some things are worth everything!
THE TURNERS is about a couple of retired outlaws in the sunset stage of their lives who must saddle back up one last time when their past catches up to their present. A shared goal, two horses, and a whole lotta grit take this couple down a path of purpose and rekindling a love lost in the life they lived 30 years ago.
The film is an original animated dramatic comedy, in the vein of THE HARDER THEY FALL and RANGO, that was inspired by the many choices we make for the greater good of those we love most.
THE TURNERS brings a unique look at repairing love and family bonds through the lens of a gritty western.
As of March 13th, this project has raised $7,000 of their $50,000 goal. This project has 26 days left to raise the $50,000 or it will not be funded.
