In a world full of magic that humans have yet to discover, many species are leaving behind their natural social structures to seek safety in communities and develop new ways of living. The story follows the lead mare of the Plains’ Herd, Nevisca, who discovers an ancient secret that is going to change the life of every horse forever. Is she going to make the right decisions for her kind? Or will she be seduced by her own ambitions instead?
The first volume is the beginning of Nevisca’s big adventure through this mystical world, where she is going to meet many peculiar equines like beautiful unicorns, intimidating bicorns, and elegant pegasi. The line between friends and foes is not always clear, so she will have to challenge her inner structures and open up her heart in order to choose wisely.
Equus Siderae is a fantasy comic that is told from a horse’s point of view where, ironically, many different topics of humanity are addressed: How much our social structure conditions our own feelings and emotions, the importance of respecting everyone’s values, choices, religion and ways of living without trying to impose ours, how can we find ourselves in a world that is constantly telling us how to feel, behave, think and do, and how essential it is to build your own community where you feel loved, seen and cared for. The balance between chaos and order, both in our inner world and outside us, is a recurrent topic in this series.
The goal of the Kickstarter is to get the comic formatted for print and into your hands as quickly as possible! The more we raise, the more stretch goals we can offer, which will be revealed as the campaign progresses!
So, what am I getting for my pledge? All backers at the $44 tier will receive the Volumes 1 and 2 softcover graphic novels featuring episodes 1 through 94 as seen on Webtoons. Books will be printed at 6″x9″ – with each having approximately 250+ pages of content (approximately 500+ pages total combined)! Please note: both books are being produced at the same time, so if you back them both you’ll receive them together.
