Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:  https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Five washed-up heroes, once celebrated as the Invincible Action Teens, reunite for one last shot at redemption, piloting their giant robot to save the world from a new kaiju (giant monster)… if only they can survive being in the same room together.

Think A24 meets Power Rangers. Gargantuan is a character-driven, emotionally impactful, robots-versus-monsters throwback from Mirror Box Films, the team behind the award-winning indie films This World Alone and Guacamole Yesterdays.

A love letter to the gang-of-five, color-coded hero shows we grew up on like Gatchaman, Voltron, and Power Rangers, featuring hand-built practical FX, monster suits, miniatures, puppets, and in-camera tricks inspired by ILM, Tokusatsu, and Super Sentai.

With Hollywood chasing AI, CGI, IP, and “content” over creativity, Gargantuan is built by hand by real humans who long for the magic, messiness, and meaning of movies.

At Mirror Box Films, we’ve redefined what indie filmmaking can be by putting community first. We believe movies are about energy, collaboration, and connection. That exchange between the people making the thing and the people watching it. That moment in a dark theater when everyone laughs, gasps, cheers, or cries together.

Our last feature, Guacamole Yesterdays, skipped traditional distribution and went on a 13-city DIY theatrical tour, with Q&As, merch tables, and authentic conversations. Every screening felt like an event.

With Gargantuan, we’re doing it again. Bigger, weirder, and with you by our side.

As of October 6th, this project has raised $7,500 of their $15,000 goal. This project has 25 days left to raise the $15,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $20, you will get a early access screener.  For a pledge of $35, you will get one digital bundle.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hudsonphillips/gargantuan?
