Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

When we started development on “I’ll be Brave, Tomorrow”, we knew we wanted to make a difference. Our director, Thomas Hunt, was once a patient at GOSH himself. The welcoming atmosphere, kind staff, and wonderful facilities made a huge impression, so when it came to pre-production, he knew he would finally be able to give something back!

Gaming is one of the activities facilitated by the hospital’s play team, a team that is fully funded by GOSH charity. Gaming can provide a virtual escape for children and young people facing the difficult challenges of a long-term illness.

Through the Built it Beat it appeal, GOSH Charity is raising vital funds to build a new Children’s Cancer Centre, to drive transformation in children’s cancer care and save more lives. The Build it. Beat it. appeal is the biggest and most ambitious fundraising appeal in GOSH Charity’s history, with the charity aiming to raise £300 million to make the vision of the Children’s Cancer Centre, a reality. By supporting GOSH and donating 50% of the Steam revenue of I’ll be Brave, Tomorrow, we hope to raise vital funds for the Children’s Cancer Centre. You can find more information about the Children’s Cancer Centre here: https://www.gosh.org/the-childrens-cancer-centre/

If you have been inspired and want to support GOSH you can also donate on our Tiltify event page or set up your own campaign. Your donations could make a significant difference to the children and families at GOSH who are facing a childhood cancer diagnosis. I’ll be Brave, Tomorrow is a narrative adventure game where you play as a sick child in a hospital. Their parents have just bought them the latest game console, and they play the game I’ll be Brave, Tomorrow.

The game itself has two aspects, the 3D hospital room, where there are many objects to interact with, as well as mini-games to keep the kid entertained…

But there is also the video game they play, which is a classic 2D retro platformer! The 3D world will interact with the 2D in various ways, from new mechanics found, to boss fights!

We are currently planning to release the game Summer 2024. The demo, while a great showing of the artistic style of the game, is only a small snippet of what we hope to achieve by then. Fully finished, we hope the game will be approximately 3 – 5 hours in length, with repayable levels and minigames to keep players engaged long after the credits roll!

As of February 28th, this project has raised $6,100 of their $6,342 goal. This project has 1 days left to raise the $6,342 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $13, you will get one digital game copy.  For a pledge of $26, you will get one game copy, and digital artwork and soundtrack.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inkforgestudios/ill-be-brave-tomorrow?
