Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Dive into life with the Walkers and read a story that will inspire you to dance, jump, and play your way to creating beautiful memories with your loved ones.

Elijah and his grandma spend time together walking in Memory Lane, remembering precious moments from her life. When Grandma Rose has to move from her historic neighborhood, Elijah leans on advice from his mom: “An idea only needs action to become a solution.” With that in mind, Elijah becomes a caregiver by using physical activity to help Grandma Rose keep her memories alive.

As told in this joyful story, caregiver Elijah learns about his family legacy, neighborhood gentrification, and the importance of walking through his grandmother’s fond reminiscences.

This book is perfect for families with children ages 5 and older who are working together as caregivers for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or neurodegenerative needs. It centers meaningful dialogue about brain health, active living, and community belonging.

A Walk Through Memory Lane is a read-aloud for intergenerational families helping someone who is living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or another neurodegenerative disease.

Its uplifting message shows how families can create new memories through meaningful, purposeful, and shared engagement in physical activity.

This book is a keepsake for family members living with memory loss who are keen to share their life’s treasured moments with loved ones, especially their grandchildren.

As of August 1st, this project has raised $7,800 of their $6,000 goal. This project has 10 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $20, you will get one digital book.  For a pledge of $45, you will get one hardcover book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/walktimebooks/a-walk-through-memory-lane?
