Crowdsourcing Mornings: Paintings Of Japan

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hi there! My name is Angela Pan and I’m an artist/illustrator based in Canada. You can check out more of my art on Instagram and Youtube. Welcome to my fifth Kickstarter campaign! As all of my past campaigns have been successfully funded and fulfilled, I’m confident that I will be able to deliver the products in this Kickstarter to you. In this campaign, I’m making a collection of art books that contain all the illustrations I’ve created with acrylic markers based on my trips to Japan.

In Spring 2023, I embarked on an intense trip to Japan. Although this was my 5th time in Japan, it’s the first time that I got to fully experience the magical cherry blossom season during peak bloom. I traveled to many places and discovered beautiful corners of Japan that I’d never seen before. I hope I have captured some of the beauty I witnessed in my drawings so you can travel vicariously through this art book.

Places include: Tokyo, Atami, Kyoto, Mount Yoshino, Himeji, Onomichi, Miyajima, Kamakura, and Mount Fuji.

The last time I traveled to Japan was back in 2019. It was the last international trip I did before we all had to stay home for 2 years, and I’m so glad I was in Japan to soak in all the beautiful colors. I went in late Autumn for 21 days and was just in time to see some dark red Momiji leaves and bright yellow Ginkgo leaves before they had all fallen.

Places include Tokyo, Mount Fuji, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Miyajima.

As of June 20th, this project has raised $29,000 of their $4,536 goal. This project has 3 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $12, you will get one art zine.  For a pledge of $19, you will get one book of spring.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/angelapanart/paintings-of-japan?
