Penny Panda and the Gift of Possibility is the first book in a series of children’s books that will help young children identify, understand, and process their emotions.
The story is about a young girl named Izzy who wakes up on Christmas morning to find that the only present Santa left for her under the tree is a stuffed panda. Little does Izzy know that this stuffed animal will soon become her new best friend and confidant. For Penny is no ordinary stuffed animal, she has been created specifically to be a Penny for Izzy’s thoughts.
As the morning continues, Izzy starts to notice something that does not feel good. Her little sister has more presents than she does. How could this be? Izzy decides it can only mean one thing; her parents love her sister more than her! She starts to feel a lot of big emotions and does not know what to do with them. Thankfully she remembers her new gift, Penny, and when Izzy tells her about her feelings, something magical happens!
This book is a story for children to learn about emotions and a resource for parents and caregivers to help their children practice emotional intelligence. It is full of fun and feelings. It became an instant favorite in our home and I hope it will soon be one of yours as well!
Penny Panda and the Gift of Possibility is all about helping children identify where their emotions come from, name the emotions they are feelings, acknowledge the meanings they give to events, and teaching them how to process their emotions. The goal of this book is to teach kids how to do this in a fun and whimsical way!
Children who learn how to understand and regulate their emotions are more successful in school and in life. They develop skills that help them excel as leaders and as compassionate members of our society. This is a vital skill set for children to learn, and Penny Panda is just the teacher to help them!
