Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

“The Tower” is a psychological horror/ thriller short about Lucy. She knows something is wrong, but she can’t quite figure out what. She’s been trying everything to connect with her inner child, including a writing exercise and sound therapy.
It’s not working…so she enlists the help of a tarot card reader.
“The five of cups, the three of wands in reverse…and the Tower.”
What does it mean? You’ll have to watch our film to find out.
Trauma lives in the past, present, and future. This is a story about the manifestation of buried trauma. Oftentimes, we think of trauma as a near-death experience. In fact, trauma can imprint on our psyche in a myriad of ways, sometimes resulting in complex PTSD. Like Lucy, folks might not even be fully aware of it. This can have a negative effect on mental health, physical health, and our professional and personal relationships.
“The Tower” is a story of what it looks like to free oneself from the cycle of trauma. “Dwell” was about how healing can be messy. “The Tower” is about how healing can be terrifying. Its our hope that this film inspires our viewers to face their past (with the support of community!) to build new towers for the future.
As of July 14th, this project has raised $36,000 of their $40,000 goal. This project has 2 days left to raise the $40,000 or it will not be funded.
